Mark Tennant received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Maryland Institute College of Art and earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from the New York Academy of Art. He also studied at the Art Students League of New York and at the Art Center of the College of Design in Los Angeles.
Tennant has taught art for more than 30 years, first as a private art instructor, then at the graduate school of the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. He has also taught at the Atelier du Caroussel and the Académie Julian in Paris.
Tennant currently resides in New York, where he teaches at the New York Academy of Art, the National Academy, and Grand Central Academy. He has exhibited at Pepperdine University and Johns Hopkins University. His work is in many private collections throughout the United States and in Europe.
